Cell C is a *****

I'm writing to raise my concern about the behavior of one of the cellular companies, CellC. I was previously a client for close on 10 years. I've heard some horror stories from people but I never thought it could happen to me, especially after 10 years of loyalty. However, the last time I attempted to 'upgrade' I encountered all manner of obstacles. I signed up to an LTE package @ R149 on the 15th June '18 and was promised it would be activated in about 24 hours. It was active for only 2 days and was blocked, Couldn't even dial the customer service number because the line was dead. In the course of 3 weeks to a month I was given 4 different SIM cards, each a different number to the one I had previously ( ********** ). The number in question is ********** 286. I run a small business so I couldn't even do any business because I rely heavily on the internet. So when I finally told them I've had enough and that I was ready to move on they begged me to give it one last try, which I agreed to. They told me I needed to up the monthly installment to R199, to which I reluctantly agreed since they told me it will be a temporary solution whilst their technical team looks at the problem. Right away it didn't make sense to me coz it din't seem like a network issue since the line appeared dead, you couldn't even dial 112 emergency number. So, having agreed to those terms I discovered to my shock and horror an amount of R774 was debited from my account on the 17th, July 2018. I immediately called them to query the amount and they promised to come back to me, which they never did. No money was debited the following month, which made me assume they were going to adjust the installment as per our understanding. Again, to my surprise the following month an amount of R301 was debited. I called again to enquire why and they again promised to come back to me. It appears they forged my contract as I never agreed to anything above R199. I contacted numerous times to esquire about what happened to the promise about their technical team looking into my problem and also why they were deducting an amount we never agreed on and they just kept promising to come back to me within 24 to 48hrs. I started to get a sense that as long as they were collecting R301 every month they couldn't be bothered. I have a contract with MTN spanning over 15 years and they've never once asked me to change my phone number when I needed to upgrade. So, it appears like this was just a ruse to run down the clock with empty promises while collecting money from my account. Every time I contacted them I got the same default response that I would be contacted within 24 - to 48rs and then nothing ever happens except more debit orders. So as a last resort I started reversing their debit order but every time they would resubmit for double the amount. I have since signed a 24-month contract with Telkom which I'm happy with because CellC suspended my account even though, based on R199pm,I was up to date.I'm happy even though I'm paying much more, at least the contract is not **********. So I feel helpless because this is costing me both time and money. I tried to talk to my bank about this but they say I should talk to CellC and CellC only promises and nothing ever happens. This morning an amount of R1206 was debited from my account and I really can't afford another contract. I can understand why FNB is not helping me because they're making money for every reversal. I have reserved the debit order about 6 times at the cost of R20 every time. Two weeks ago I was promised that their legal department would contact me 'within 24 to 48hrs', and just like every other time, nothing came of it. I'm not sure if that was just aveiled threat or what but I have seen you help a lot of your readers and I hope you can help me too by putting a spotlight on these ************ business practices. It probably has to do with the new owners because I never had problems in the past.
