Cell C is a bunch of rogues!
I have been a customer of Cell C for about 20 years, had several contracts before and each time I was notified at least 4 months prior to the contract coming to an end, either via SMS or email or receive countless calls from Cell C customer service to inform me of this or to offer me an upgrade, etc. This time, I had not received any communication from Cell C to inform me that my contract will expire, yet they started billing me R999.01 for a contract that I was paying R384.32 per month for 24 months. As stated above, no prior notification from Cell C was received by me to inform me of this, they just started deducting R999.01 off my bank account. For the first month I thought that perhaps I had gone over my usage limit and that there were additional charges, etc. however when it happened the following month, I called Cell C to query it. The date of my first query was on 03 October before 12:00 that afternoon, whilst I was on the phone with Cell C, I received an sms stating the following: " Your upgrade date is 08 May 2023 and you can upgrade on any day of this month. Your contract end date is 06 August 2023." This was the very first time I received the message, and not once but twice on 03 October, literally 10 minutes apart. When speaking to the call centre agent, I was informed that they are not able to assist me and that my query/dispute will be sent to the "back office" and I will receive feedback/resolution within 24-48 hours. I ended the call with Cell C and waited for the feedback/resolution. Nothing was received. On 07 October I received an SMS from Cell C stating: "Dear Cell C customer, please receive feedback for case no. ***." No resolution or feedback was received from Cell C except for this message. I again called the Cell C customer service line on 084135, and spoke to another agent, who again told me that they are not able to assist with the query. I was told that they will do an internal investigation on their side to see the communication between myself and Cell C to see if I received the SMS to inform me of my upgrade/contract end date. Again I waited the 24-48 hours, no feedback. I requested to speak to a manager. No manager was available and I was told that I would receive a call within 10 minutes, I waited. No call came through and I gave Cell C the benefit of the doubt and left it for a few more days. A couple of days passed and I queried it again, again no manager was available and I was told that I would be contacted. This cycle continued. I eventually stopped the debit order via my banking app, however I received a notification from Cell C collections department to let me know that I should contact them regarding non payment, yet I am still waiting on my query to be resolved. Today, 02 November I called Cell C again and was told that my case had been closed as the query had been resolved and the case was closed under the above reference number!! I was given a new reference number *** and was told that this case would be escalated and that I should wait 24-48 hours, which means this process will start over! The number I provided Cell C at the beginning of my query is a data contract. The customer service agent I spoke to told me that she will get a manager to call me back, but before I could give her my contact number, she ended the call! I called back and asked to speak to the agent I spoke to (I gave her name) and I was told that she is busy on a call and I was to speak to the agent who answered my call. I have a list of more than 20 Cell C customer service agents I had spoken to in the month of October and each time I am told a manager will call me back, yet no one calls and each month Cell C is deducting money off my account. I have no other option but to lodge this with the Ombudsman as I cannot see how Cell C should be allowed to treat their clients this way!

What is happening with my query? Still no feedback and it has been going on for 2 months now!
What is happening with my query? Still no feedback and it has been going on for 2 months now!
Thank you for your response, however I find it unacceptable that it has taken this long to find a simple resolution, all Cell C needs to do is to refund my money for the months that I paid additionally due to not being informed that my contract had come to an end. For the past 2 months I have been forced to transfer all my money out of my current account because of the fact that you are to date still billing me R999.01, this even after my contract has been cancelled!
Furthermore I do not understand how it is possible that I am still being billed, yet I was told telephonically that I will not be billed R999.01 at the end of November... but again this happened. I am now faced with being charged by my bank R147, 00 for insufficient funds! How does Cell C intend to pay this back... I guess I can just kiss it goodbye, since I am still struggling to get my other money reimbursed.
I received a message from Cell C on 23 November stating "request to migrate will be effective on the date you specified". This date was 30 November as per my chat with Nomthandazo. On 30 November, I no longer had data available to me, yet I was told that I would still have data till 1 January 2024, however on 01 December, I received an sms notification to showing that Cell C is trying to deduct R1988.02 from my bank account?
Further to this, on 23 November after my chat with Nomthandazo... Cell C customer service calls me to offer me a contract... but get this...they offering me the same contract I had previously which is 90GB data, so 50GB anytime data and 40GB nite data. How is this possible? Why would I take out another contract with the same company who I am struggling with to get my money from?
To date, no other person than Nomthandazo has tried to resolve this matter, no managers are available, customer service sends you from pillar to post, whole lot of empty promises.
I will make it a point to inform all my contacts and clients of the ********* business that Cell C is doing, they have no regard for their customers!

So if I were to say that if I pay R431.19 at the end of December, then I will be once and for all done with Cell C? How sure can I be that Cell C will not deduct R999.01 from my bank account again? Please provide evidence of this.
I just want to put this query to rest and move on with my life, but will never recommend any of my clients or family to Cell C again

Nomthandazo.. please explain?!! According to you, I should only be paying R431.19
What is happening here... why are you guys not communicating across departments? I swear if Cell C deducts R999.01 at the end of this month, I am not leaving it there. How can they charge me R999.01 when I cancelled my contract and am now prepaid???
Urgent response to this is required please
