Cell-C : *********** and useless

received a final demand from Cell C 31 January 2022 almost 6 months after cancelling my contract with them. Was very concerned about this and called the call center, only to find out that when cancelling they stopped the debit orders and the last 2 months never went off. The account was always paid with debit order over 7 yrs, so I just assumed the same was in process and my error was that I never checked that it was indeed happening. So I accepted my error and made the payment on 8th February 2022, using my account number as a reference.

08 October 2022 I was contacted by SSD & Assoc as debt collectors demanding payment plus extra to which I demanded a statement and sent them the proof of payment (Ticket Number - ***). No response besides sending the statement and even though requested, no proof that the account has been settled. SSD & Assoc then send another demand 26 Feb 2023 with another ticket number supp**** (ticket number is ***) but no other response even though i requested the details of the ombartsman (not sure of spelling), where I can report both them and Cell-C for negligence and harassment.

Cell-C never made any contact except the final demand letter, which was the first time I even found out that I am in Debt, never acknowledged my POP and handed me over even though they were paid a week after their mail to me. SSD & associates are just as useless and only try and ****** more funds instead of ensuring the consumer who has actually done the right thing and sent them the proof is removed from harassment and asking me to pay almost double the original amount I paid over a year ago. Disgusting service from both companies and I will duplicate this Complaint to the debt collectors as well. All good and well that they are just doing their job, but then hire competent people who can understand basic English who can actually do the job at hand! In the mean time, this is a black mark on my credit record.
