Cell-C Incompetence

I took out a Cell-C LTE contract after I checked that my area is covered on the cell-c coverage map along with confirmation from a cell-c technician after a site survey was conducted. After a couple of months my connection just died. I visited the cell-c store to do an inquiry.

I was then told by one of the staff members that cell-c uses MTN cell towers for LTE services, and that the use of said towers have been terminated. I then confirmed this information by looking at the coverage map and saw that there is a gaping hole in coverage around my area all of a sudden. Cell-C conveniently did not inform any of their customers of this development and just continues to take debit orders every month regardless of service delivery.

I was advised to terminate my contract, free of charge, as cell-c could not provide with the service I paid for and couldn't provide me with any viable alternative. I was also told to contact cell-c customer care to receive a reference number that I then had to take to the cell-c store in order to initiate the cancellation. Contradictory, the customer care agent advised me that I actually need the reference number given to me by the staff in the store. After some deliberation and a couple of phone calls from the store, I filled in the paperwork for the cancellation procedure and was assured that the cancellation would be issued.

Months later I have now been informed that I have been handed over to attorneys for failure to settle my "outstanding" account.

This is simply unacceptable.
