Cell C incompetence!!!!!!
Been trying to blacklist a ****** phone for a week.
Device was initially issued on contract by Cell C. Inbetween the cell number has been ported to Vodacom because of very bad service.
Now Cell C is claiming they can't blacklist the device because the number is on Vodacom.
They are not understanding that the DEVICE was issued by Cell C, hence why they are responsible for blacklisting. Its rhe phone number that ported to Vodacom, NOT the number.
The very unfriendly with bad attitude instore sales lady said "the block stays grey, so sorry mam, we can't do anything. The insurance needs to sort it out"....
What are your employees trained to do Cell C?? As even i know, this has zero to do with my insurance, but 100% due to Cell C incompetence!!!!!!!
Why could Vodacom then blacklist the phone that was on their network, but Cell C is not able to do the same thing with a number that was on your network at the time of issuing the device?

At the store the consultant said a prepaid number is also picked up on the device, but this number is registered with a passport number which doesn't belong to me or my husband, therefore neither of us can blacklist it. That is where she said that my insurance needs to sort it out.
What i don't understand is how is it the customers responsibility to keep track of the numbers and networks they belong to, just incase your phone gets ******?!
I mean the record is there, the phone was issued by Cell C, the current number that now belongs to Vodacom is there, on your Cell C network, i am standing with the box of the phone in my hand in your store! Yet i need to provide numbers and the network it was last used on.
That is rediculous!!

Last night all of a sudden my husband's phone number was not registered on any network anymore, which means he can't use his phone.
I made it very clear from the start with Vodacom and Cell C that our numbers CAN'T be blocked as it is being used by us currently in our current phones. The ****** phones that has to be blacklisted were not in use at the time it was ****** from our house.
How is it that my husband's number is now not working? And not registered on any network anymore?
He has ported to Vodacom a year ago, so how is it possible that Cell C could now block his now Vodacom number, but they can't seem to blacklist a ****** device??
Vodacom was able to blacklist my phone, without it affecting my number at all, as it is the device that needed to be blacklisted, not the number!
My number: *** (****** device has been blacklisted through Vodacom wirh no issues)
My husband's number: *** (****** device has NOT been blacklisted by Cell C, but his number has been blocked even though he is on Vodacom network now)
VERY ANGRY!!!!!!
Provide answers ASAP please!!
