Cell C in breach of contract

My Cell C contract ended on 31 October 2016 for my mobile number ********** 885. I did notify them in writing two months prior to the end of the contract that I was not going to renew my contract. During the two months before the contract expired I received numerous calls from Cell C to upgrade my contract. I refused to upgrade and advised them that I was going to take up a pay as you go contract.

Sometime in October 2016 a Cell C agent called me to offer me an upgrade again. I refused and he wanted to know why I do not want to continue with a contract. I told him that the contract was too expensive and I wanted to convert to a pay as you go customer as soon as my contract ends (31 Oct 2016). He then offered me a R 20 contract whereby I would receive R 20.00 airtime and 20 Smses. He confirmed that I would be able to top up my own airtime and data and that I could buy the R 7.50 whatsapp bundle that last for a month. I asked the consultant about 3 times to confirm this new contract just to be sure that I understood him perfectly.

On the 1 November 2016 I bought the R 7.50 whatsapp bundle because my contract had now officially ended. I wanted to top up my airtime but was not able to. I thought that is because I have R 20.00 airtime loaded already as per the new contract.

I received smses from Cell C in mid November 2016 stating that my usage was high (can't remember the amount). I called Cell C on 24 November to query the amount on the smses. I spoke to 3 different agents, they informed me that my contract was not cancelled and is still running. I asked them for the call recording from October 2016 when I took out a pay as you go contract to prove to them that they are at fault. They did not cancel my contract. They gave me the reference number 322437 and said that they would contact me within 2 business days. It is now a week later and I have not heard from Cell C.

I asked them to send me or make the call recording from October 2016 when I took out the pay as you go contract, available to me.

Cell C is very unprofessional and have no customer service s****s. The one agent said he cannot help me. I asked to speak to the manager but the agent said that his manager could not help me. Another agent hung up the phone while I was speaking to her.

I called Cell C because I wanted to prevent the situation form going further and to resolve the matter. I advised them that I was going to dispute the debit order in December 2016 if they do debit my account for something I have not agreed to.

I want Cell C to cancel my contract that is still running, as they were supposed to do on 31 October 2016. I request that they not debit my account in December 2016 for the invoice that they emailed to me. I also want them to cancel the new pay as you go contract that I took in October because they are in breach of the contract.

I have been a contract customer of Cell C for over 13 years and have used this mobile number for over 13 years. I have not ever missed a debit order or been in arrears with Cell C for all these years. I am so disappointed with Cell C for the *********** service they are giving me now. Once these issues are resolved, I am going to port my number to another service provider.
