Cell C has the worst customer service and no people’s skills

On Saturday morning my son was held up with a firearm and ****** of his cellp hone and his vehicle was severely damaged on his way home from a shop. When he got home he phoned CELL C to have the sim card blocked and the phone blacklisted.

After 5 calls to the useless, unhelpful and extremely heartless and rude call centre employees the sim card was blocked after he eventually got the security questions right. Guess the ******** heartless person who compiled these questions has never been traumatised before. Who in their right mind will remember the last 5 numbers they called, or when exactly they recharged and for which amount when you had a firearm held against your head 15 min prior? Then came the second issue as according to them they could not blacklist the phone as the device was not purchased from them.

Ok so then I phoned Vodacom who was very sympathetic, polite and helpful just to be told that it’s the responsibility of Cell C to blacklist the device.

So he phones the useless call centre again just to be told again that he failed the security questions which he just passed like 10 min ago, another 3 calls later and he eventually passed the stupid security questions, just to be told that they can’t pick the IME number on the system and that he should phone back later.

He just left it there and decided to phone back on Sunday which was yesterday. Again the same stupid process again being told that they cannot pick up the IME number and that he should go into the store for assistance.

He phoned the store at Clearwater and spoke to a very rude lady by the name of Yonela who did not even give him a chance to speak, she kept on interrupting him and that’s not hearsay as the phone was on speaker.

We then decided to go with him to the store, got there and spoke to the manager who is the most blunt arrogant and rude person ever. He started shouting and told my son that if he does not calm down he won’t assist him, guess he has never been traumatised and held at gunpoint. He even had the audacity to tell us that he won’t tell us “****” when we told him how easy it was when he had the phone blocked in February when he was also ****** . My son then responded to say you are talking “****” because he blacklisted the cell phone over the phone in Feb over the phone without having to visit a store, he the bluntly told us that we were lying even when we showed him the sms we received then. He then went on to say that he has been for years and known how the process works, claiming that we were lying which made me as the mother even more frustrated to see a so called adult male and a manager verbally abusing and shouting my very traumatised son.

Then comes the next hilarious tactic from CELL C, after my son blocked the sim twice, registering the new sim and dealing with the pathetic human beings we are told that the sim does not belong to him but its registered on my name (the mother)

So my question how the hell did he manage to block the sim in Feb, Rica the new sim in Feb and get to block the sim on Saturday after the 5 calls and costing money as he had to use my phone which is not linked to the pathetic Cell C.?

The manager eventually made his appearance again after 20 min and told us that the phone will only be blacklisted within 72 hours and because of their pathetic useless service the case cannot the registered at the SAPS as the ITC number is requested.

Its Monday morning now and nothing can be done as were still waiting for a response from CELL C on the ITC number, so in the meantime we cannot open a ******** case nor register the claim for his vehicle damage and loss of his cell phone because of CELL C.

Teach your employees and managers to have sympathy, empathy and peoples skills when dealing with the public, especially when traumatised. I have never in my life seen such poor service and your Manager at Clearwater should expect a defamation of character sue against him and your company.
