Cell C has, in my experience, demonstrated a sustained pattern of unprofessionalism, operational incompetence, and systemic failure in the provision of mobile telecommunications services.

Despite managing multiple senior-level mobile accounts (at least nine active lines), Cell C has repeatedly failed to provide reliable network service, coherent customer support, or effective account management. Promises of resolution are routinely made by various representatives, yet no meaningful action follows. This reflects a complete lack of internal coordination — effectively, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.

Of particular concern is Cell C’s deeply dysfunctional billing and accounting system. Invoices are issued, payments are made timeously, and proof of payment is supp****, yet the accounts remain incorrectly reflected as outstanding. Notwithstanding this, Cell C has shown the audacity to threaten and, in some instances, suspend services, despite being fully paid. Such conduct is commercially unreasonable and contractually indefensible.

This behaviour constitutes:

Breach of contract

Failure to provide services with reasonable care and skill

Administrative negligence

Potential contraventions of the Consumer Protection Act and applicable telecommunications regulations

The cumulative impact of these failures has caused material inconvenience, operational disruption, and reputational risk, particularly given that these services support senior personnel and business-critical communications.

Should other customers have experienced similar treatment, I invite them to make contact. There is a clear basis for collective legal action, including formal complaints to ICASA and the institution of summons for damages arising from persistent service failure and maladministration.

Cell C’s conduct, taken as a whole, reflects an organisation unfit to manage complex or high-value client accounts and raises serious questions about its internal governance, billing controls, and customer service standards.
