Cell C Getmore misrepresenting its services and breaches the CPA

Cell C has a Getmore service and the agent phoned me on 31 Jan and **** about the services it offers. He also told me the service would be activated from 1 Feb, but I can try it out for 15 days because I will only be charged on the 15th. When I received the brochure I saw that he misled me completely and on the same day I opted in I emailed Getmore to cancel the subscription. I did not hear anything back and pboned them but was on hold for 7min before I was promosed they would phone me back which never happened. Cell C and Getmore makes it almost impossible to cancel because Cell C simply tells you to contact Getmore and Getmore's lines are always busy and they never call you back. In the mean-time I received my Cell C statement and included was two months fees for Getmore. It took me 7 days to get the subscription cancelled by refusing to hang up with the cancellation department and not acvepting that they would call me back. They also told me the debit order has been cancelled and that I would not be charged. Cell C on the other hand is refusing to correct my account by removing the Getmore Charges and keeps simply referring me back to Getmore.

Getmore is misleading people into subscribing to its service, and subscribes you in seconds but it literally takes a week of nagging and 30min phone calls to get them to cancel it. Cell C is assisting it in this **** by attempting to collect sibscription fees on a direct marketing contract that was properly cancelled wothin the cooling off period which is a breach of the CPA.

Cell C and Getmore is also confusing consumers by marketing in such a way that it seems to be the same service provider but when it comes to cancellation, Cell C refuses to take any responsibility and just refers you back to Getmore.

Cell C has been informed of the cancellation on numerous occasions before the debit order is due and still insists that it is going to collect the fee based on Getmore's misrepresentations. Cell C also does not read the content of email complaints and simply sends a standard response closing the complaints.

So after several more frustrating calls where Cell C clearly does not see a problem of misleading people into this Getmore thing, Cell C refused to stop the payment from being deducted but asked my bank details to process a refund which they said would be done within 7 days. Today is day 8 and still no refund has been paid.

So when you aksed for my bank details to process a refund that was just one more lie you told. This is not acceptable. CellC has **** to me so many times throughout this process it is redicilous.

Also posting my cell number on this public forum is a violation of POPIA. So you have no respect for the Consumer Protection Act, no respect for POPIA and no respect for its clients.

Tjank you for confirming the messages were private replies and not public. It does not specify that on my profile.

You have still not adequately addressed the misleading information, misleading marketing, breaches of with the CPA or your lies though.
