Cell C get your s*** together and stop ********

Shame on you Cell C. You keep sending USSD subscription offers which have "Ok" as an option. These prompts can easily be selected without true consent. I have mistakenly selected Ok numerous times while trying to use my phone and subsequently had to cancel the subscription manually. How many elderly folks are falling for this nonsense and being charged for months without their knowledge? At R7/day one can quickly rack up R2500 in subscription fees. Disgusting. This is not marketing, it's a ******** effort which resides on the verge of *******ity. Stop that *** - behave like a reputable service provider and not like a ****hub pop-up trying to sell viagra. SHAME ON YOU

Third party you say? Yet they are branded "Cell C". For example: Cell C: Download Unlimited Interactive mobile games for R7/day. TnCs Apply.

Don't hide behind "Third party" and don't talk to me about refunds because you know that most people won't go through the effort to recover the money they have inadvertently lost.

You allow these ****s to be conducted on your network

This is their "Private reply":

Good day Benjamin

Thank you for reaching out to us.

These charges are for third party services. What you are buying can be phone apps, pay per view videos, games and other content. They can be one-off charges or ongoing subscriptions.

For refunds, when or how you subscribed to these services, you need to contact WASPA on ***.

You allow these ****s to be conducted on your network - take RESPONSIBILITY

From Cell C:
Please contact WASPA on *** for further assistance with your refund request.

Regards,
^TM

I don't want a refund - I want to know why you would allow/condone/promote services that are clearly designed to ************ly subscribe users to services. Your USSD promotion prompts are borderline ******* - the way it so easily (and often erroneously) leads to an unwanted subscription deserves a lawsuit not a Hellopeter review. Do something about it and stop hiding behind the "Third Party" curtain. If I own a restaurant and serve Ice cream from a third party whose ice cream contains cyanide, and I am AWARE of it, guess who is responsible? You know what your third parties are pushing through, it is your responsibility to put an end to it

The saga continues! I blocked my number for any future subscriptions using the *133*1# code and yet, 24 hours later, I get another USSD prompt for a fantastic R5/day subscription. What a joke! So even when I follow the process I am still harassed? This is a true incompetence, dishonesty and ********** smoothie. Cell C get your *** together and stop this for ME and EVERYONE else

"Hi Benjamin,

If you got this prompt as a pop up, it means there was a subscription that was trying to activate but because you have blocked subscriptions, it prompted you to activate. If you had not blocked your number, the subscription may have activated without prompting for a double opt-in.

^TN"

It was the usual subscription offer, not a pre-existing one. Came in as a USSD pop-up as usual. I was not subscribed to any service before blocking my number. This was a brand new offer

It just popped up on my screen. Aas if I had typed a USSD code in.
