Cell C Galleria a dinosaur
Visited Galleria Cell C store and was served by Shannon the Assistant Manager. I am an existing customer. Asked for Proof of Residence. I offered to show her on my phone or email it to her. She insisted on a hard copy claiming they are not allowed to accept electronic docs. I questioned this saying all she needed was to verify that what was already on the system was correct. She insisted they are not alliwed to. They are also not allowed to receive and print Proof of Residence emails for customers. She referred me to a print shop where after a long walk and a long queue taking approx 30 min I returned with the hard copy. She loooked at it and handed it back to me. This upset me because she could just as well have looked at my phone where the doc was in full colour. I am disappointed with this Cell C store being so archaic in its approach to customers. At other stores they accept the electronic file. The Witbank municipality issues electronic statements. I believe employees at Galleria Cell C need training on how to manage FICA without frustrating customers . I am expecting an apology for this time-wasting exercise i was subjected to on New Year's eve and confirmation that electronic docs are acceptable for existing customers. I doubt I would have received the same treatment had I entered to take a 24 month contract.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
It is disappointing to learn the above and certainly not the standard of service we want for our customers.
This will be addressed with the store manager to have this kind of behavior rectified. Sincere apologies for the unsatisfactory service and inconvenience caused.
