Cell C ********** Account

In November 2021, I noticed an amount of R1300 being debited from my bank, by Cell C. My contract is R149. I immediately acted on it, and found that an account had been **********LY taken out in my name. I submitted my affidavit and bank statements, and waited for a refund. I eventually had to have it reversed and blocked at my bank. I EVENTUALLY received a letter from Cell C, confirming the ********** account, informing me it had been closed, and instructing debt collectors to make appropriate ammendments. Well for the past 3 months I have been harassed by debt collectors telling me I owe Cell R2600. I DO NOT OWE 1 CENT. Cell C customer care is a joke, so I have dealt with their Facebook Messenger team. Two weeks ago I had a call from a manager, apologising, and telling me that the account has been closed, but that the finance department had not amended their recordsb,and that he would see to it. I requested an email informing it had been sorted out (and a written apology would have been a nice touch). I have received nothing of the sort, and have just had ANOTHER call from the debt collectors! This is absolutely disgusting. This is going to have an impact on my credit rating, and none of it is my fault!
