Cell C ***** Account

I was contacted by the Cell C collections office to inform me of an impending black listing in October 2017. This was a shock to me as I have never opened or dealt with Cell C in any way.

Upon my further investigation into the matter the collections office sent me the contract and the ID copy of the person that opened said account; This was clearly a **** ID document, but this ID document with my ID number on it and a picture of someone else was used to open the account regardless.

What upset me about this fact, beyond that my Identity had been ******, is that the ID copy Cell C supp**** me with as part of the contract information was not CERTIFIED!

How can this be allowed? On top of this no proof of residence was attached to the contract either, how can Cell C sales personnel be allowed to open an account without any proof that the client will be able to pay there debt??

Now as for the problem I am facing because of this negligence : Cell C collection requested some documents to determine my innocence or guilt. I submitted this information on 12 Oct 2017, the collections office informed me the next day that the documents I submitted had been forwarded to Cell C itself for investigation.

I have tried contacting Cell C many times since to clear the account off of my name as it was never mine to start with but all I receive in return are request to wait as it is being investigated. This matter is reflecting poorly on my credit score and as such I cannot get a student loan because I have to wait for this to be cleared off of my name.

If this is how they treat people they have wronged, I can only imagine how customers are being treated.
