CELL C *****

I have been struggling to change my contract to pre-paid from the 12th of May 2016. I called to request the change, all went well. On the 13th a Cell C cancelations department person called me to inform me that they cannot cancel the contract as I just had it upgraded and I have received an Iphone 6. I immediately told them that this is not correct and it must be a mistake. I was told that they will investigate. On the 14th I received a SMS to inform me my new contract is now active. I called again the 147 call centre. Spoke to a nice guy Jeff, he then informed me to go to the Police, do an affidavit and make certified copy of my ID and then send it to ***. I did so on the 16th. On 18th I received sms to inform me they have reviewed and a representative from the cancelations department will be in touch. I called again and again, I have record of all the calls I have made. Each time I'm passed from one department to another and the problem is not resolved. As a result from the end of May I now have two contracts I'm paying for, someone who have the Iphone 6 and the contracted fee for this upgrade plus my new contract with another service provider to witch I want to port my old number to. But to be able to do this, my old number must be on pre-paid. To make the report short, I’m still waiting after 3 weeks of calling almost every day and still waiting on the managers to call me who the call centre agents emailed with my request.

In the meantime I did some of my own investigation. I know the upgrade was done through a call centre in KZN, I have the number that was used, different from my number to do the upgrade. I have the IMEI number of the Iphone 6 they received. I’m now considering opening a ***** case against the Cell C call centre and sue for my losses, time spent to fix this, allowing someone other than myself to do an upgrade, deliver a phone to an address not on the system as per my account records, not informing me of the upgrade when the request was made, failure to administrate my account, keeping my information secure, sharing my personal information out off a Call Centre with other person after they did not went through the security questions. So I would like to speak to Cell C’s Legal department and get their view on this ***** that happened and the way it is handled. I’ll wait till the 10th for a response, on the 13th I’m going to the Police station to open up my own ***** case against cell C. May the best man win.
