Cell C fibre support is USELESS

I have tried to cancel my Cell C fibre connection since beginning of June. I wrote to both Cell C and Vumatel to cancel my Cell C connection and move to a different ISP and only Vumatel acknowledged my email. Since then I have written to Cell C, emailed them, phoned them and spoken to the accounts department numerous times as the have sent me monthly accounts, but they just keep sending me accounts without acknowledging the fact that I am not connected anymore. Vumatel acknowledged my June email to change to another ISP and my line was switched on 1 July. Cell C is worse than Telkom when it comes to cancelling an account - a disaster. It seems that they are so short of money that they cling to anything that still has some potential for earnings - this after threataning to cut the connection 2 months ago!. They have now handed me over to a debt collector claiming that I owe them four months rent for a non-existing fibre line.

My honest opinion is that Cell C has the worst consumer support function I have ever come across and I would discourage anyone to join them. They are USELESS.

This month by month contract has now survived according to Cell C for four months after it was terminated. Since the reply to the HP email nobody from Cell C has contacted me except the debt collector who keeps phoning saying I have to pay the "outstanding amount". He says that when he refers it back to Cell C that is what they tell him. This company is a JOKE!

My response to the posting above by Moses is that I emailed Cleopatra Thathaisa ********** the whole story of my fight for disconnection. Since then someone (Moses?) has phoned me and asked whether anyone had contacted me. I told him about Cleopatra but this will probably not result in any action by Cell C as I have emailed and phoned the company many times before. I hope against hope, that my essay to Cleopatra is successful in getting the company to do something. I do not, however, expect any movement as the same story has gone to them many times before without any result.

30 October I got a reply from Cell C to say that they have cancelled my non-existent fibre line from 30 November! Hooray! Now we just have to fight about the 5 months rent they want for this non-existent line. Thank you Hello Peter, the posting finally stirred Cell C to do something.
