Cell c fibre month to month contract is a ****. Run!!!!!! If you value your sleep/peace Do not associate yourself with Cell c

My husband got the Cell C fibre he specifically wanted a month to month contract because we knew that we would want to get out of it anytime since my employer was in a process of getting us fibre as a work from home program. In Dec 2021 my husband reached out to Cell C to get the month to month contract for fibre cancelled giving them one month's notice we were advised that we need to pay for a cancelation fee of R1 520.73 (we gave it in writing) in Feb, Jan would be our last premium and connection will be disconnected end of Jan. The cancelation fee was strange to us because we are on a month to month contract. We were then told that we were suppose to stay in the contract for 24 months without cancelling which became even more confusing as that would then mean we are actually in a 24 months contract, there agent who was speaking to my husband keeps insisting that it is a month to month contract which in my knowledge is contractually incorrect. My husband was also confused about this 24 months clause as he would have not signed the contract, as I mentioned earlier we had a good reason for asking for a month to month contract we knew at some point the company I work for would provide it as a benefit, so my husband asked for the contract that he apparently signed agreeing to this 24 months, now it got even more interesting. The contract on file was not signed by my husband which is why he didn't even know about this 24 months clause, my husband sent cell c a document he signed to show them his signature and hand writing the guy who is assisting with cancelation refused to understand what my husband is saying that he wouldn't have known about the clause and only spoke to the sales rep who assured us we would get out of the contract at anytime and we were not suspicious since it is a month to month contract. My question is how is my husband bound to a contract he did not sign . It would have been a different story if my husband had signed the contract and neglected to read. Today we received an invoice with the cancelation fee of R4 000, now our cancelation fee is no longer R1 521 my disappointment with Cell C is beyond me. How do they treat customers like this? fibre is still not canceled this was brought to our attention by the new ISP on Saturday as we would not connect and didn't understand why, so they explained that cell c has not canceled the ISP on their side we won't be able to connect. My husband and I took time to pick an ISP because we didn't want trouble . So to find ourselves in this position I just cannot explain my disappointment with cell c I am so disappointed with the treatment we getting from this guy who is helping us. I can't believe there are still companies in this day and age who are so unprofessional, careless and plain useless. We regret taking up this contract so much considering that we had other better options. If you are looking for a month to month contract do not, do not choose cell c. I have cell phones and templates on contract with cell c. Once my contracts come to an end I am not even going to wait an extra day I am canceling all of them and I will never again associate myself or my family with cell c and I will not stop telling people to run far away from cell c. I am disgusted.

The same Stanley Shongwe who has been assisting us, the same Stanley Shongwe who gave us the cancelation fee of R1521 that is due now in Feb and the same Stanley who said we will be disconnected on the 31st of Jan 2022 emailed my husband telling him that Cell C's account department will be in touch with him regarding claw back fee. Nothing about when they are disconnecting us so we can connect with the new ISP just goes to show how much they are not bothered with our needs. When are they disconnecting us? Who signed the contract because it's definitely not my husband, are they going to continue to pretend like we did not ask them to send us a contract that was signed by my husband agreeing to the 24 months clause? Are they going to bind my husband on a contract he never signed? Another day has gone by and it does not look like we are going to get assisted. Pathetic!!!

Still nothing from cell c, we truly, truly regret associating ourselves with cell c. Still not disconnected meaning we can't connect to our new ISP. No call from the billing department which is ridiculous that we were given a cancelation fee of R1521 how does it move from R1521 to R4000? Who signed the contract they have on their file? Who agreed to the clause of 24 months non cancelation? How is my husband bound to a contract he didn't sign? And we have requested that if they say my husband signed it then they must give us the contract with my husband's signature, to this day we have not received it. Why are we not being take seriously?

Unbelievable we just phoned Cell c, turns out they are only going to request for our line to be released now, despite our communication to Stanley nothing was done. Billing department has not gotten back to us and there is no feedback what so ever on this R4000 new cancelation fee. Oh and by the way the story about the month to month contract has changed we entered into a month to month contract that only come into effect after 24 months. If you know whats good for you do not, do not associate yourself with cell c.

My husband received a call from Cell c to say that our cancelation fee is going back to R1521. Wow, so what, my husband is now bound to terms and conditions he didn't even agree too? And we are supposed to be happy that its only R1521 and not R4000 anymore? I don't know what's worse the fact that it took them over 24 hours to attend to our hello Peter complaint, or that according to the lady Ntombi who called if you accept their router you accept their terms and conditions. That is absolutely nonsense and ********, there 24 months clause is material because it affects your decision to accept their router. So Cell c employees cannot sign a 24 months agreement on our behalf disguised as a month to month contract, then turn around and say when you accept the router you accept their terms and conditions. She obviously knew that she **** to us about the terms and conditions or omitted important information which is why she didn't even bother to send us the contract to read through and sign because the contract would have exposed her omissions. Even the advertising that was in our estate because that's how we got her contact details she was advertising a month to month contract. The fact that we were not told about this 24 months clause and were also not given an opportunity to read and sign the contract that on its own makes this contract nil and void and calls for this sales rep to explain who signed that contract they have on file. Ntombi is going to look for a recording where my husband agreeid to these terms and conditions. I cannot wait for the recording or proof (not this contract they gave us that is not signed by my husband) because there is no way my husband would have agreed to that and the is no way that we are going to accept a contract he didn't sign as proof of his acceptance to these terms and conditions, and cell c employees are not going to tell us that accepting a router is the acceptance of terms and conditions. And also can't wait to report/share our experience with our estate office and ask them to send out communication to all residents that Cell c is a ***** if they see adverts around the estate they should not entertain them, I have a silly feeling we are not the only ones this sales rep did this too maybe the only reason there has not been complains so far is because there other residents didn't have to cancel but I am sure she has signed on behalf of a lot of customers and it's scary to deal with a company that protects their employees who committee ***** with reasons like if you accept a router you agree to terms and conditions, I mean really. This sounds like a company of **********, you can tell when someone is trying to get themselves out of a sticky situation. To be continue..........

My husband received an email from Cell c yesterday afternoon that our line has been released, thought we would wake up and start connecting to our new ISP, nope, we still can't connect because the line hasn't actually been released, maybe tonight, maybe over the weekend or by Monday our line will be released, we don't know anymore. This morning my husband received another email from Cell c that our billing dispute has been escalated and they will provide us with feedback once they have it. So still waiting for the proof where my husband signed agreeing to the terms and conditions or a recording where my husband agrees to the terms and conditions.

Our line is still not released, my husband received an email yesterday (which I think its automated so we don't bother them with follow ups considering that we received it on a Sunday) that they will give feedback as soon as they have it or something along those lines with regards to our billing dispute, still waiting for that contract where my husband signed for the terms and conditions of a 24 months contract disguised as a month to month contract. Imagine how many people have actually signed this 24 months contract, thinking it's a month to month contract.

This is ridiculous, line still not released, tomorrow marks exactly one week since Cell c advised that line has been released. Not to mention we still have not heard anything on that billing dispute. Pathetic!!!!
