Cell C, enabling *****!

Yesterday evening, I suddenly had a "no service" status on my phone using a cell c sim. I was out of town with poor signal so didn't think much of it until some strange activity on my bank account. I had no phone signal so could not investigate this but as soon as I got hold of a phone the next morning, I called the call centre to inform of suspected *****. I was told categorically that no ********** activity was evident on my account and that either my phone or sim were faulty. Only when I got to a cell c store 6 hours later was I informed that in fact, a sim swap was done on my account the prior evening. All this time, ********** had access to my phone to receive one-time pins, etc. This is nothing short of gross negligence and serious action should be taken against *********** staff providing false information!

You’re obviously not very serious about this. I requested recording of the sim swap request on Sunday 25 September. On Monday I was called to advise that the recording would be available at a chosen cell c store. I have now come to listen to the recording only to receive contradictory information that the recording would not be made available. At this stage you are being negligent and uncooperative in a ***** case investigation. I’m sure ICASA are going to love hearing about this and you’ll be held liable for your actions!
