CELL C DOES NOT REPLY TO COMPLAINTS -THEIR DEVICE INSURERS ARE ********
Took out an unlimited contract with Cell C April 2018 along with Handset Insurance. My screen broke on the 7th July 2019. Their insurers have the audacity to tell me they cannot honor my claim because I did a sim swap. What ******* is this?. Of course I did a sim swap the day I purchased the phone and used the phone everyday until the 7th July 2019 when I handed it in to Cell C Greenstone. The bottom line is, its called Device insurance , not sim card insurance. They are saying they will not repair my screen because I did a sim swap. Really !!!. I will not rest until this is resolved.

18 Jul 2019, 14:36Thank you Cell C for your intervention. We have movement on this query. It is equally important for me to give credit where it is due. I am grateful for your assistance. I must once again add that the reason for this query does not make sense. Insurance is on a device not on a cell number. I could have left the phone in my cupboard the entire time and then dropped it which is not the case of course but for the sake of an example. I pay a premium for device insurance for a reason. This needs to be looked at and completely removed as a reason to non award a claim. Regards, Alistair. A very big thank you to Hellopeter. Should never have gone this far. This is a forum that brings business and consumers together. Much appreciated.
