Cell C ********* in their contract renewals

If you are asked to migrate your old account be very careful of what Cell C promises you because you can be sure there is a catch that will leave you speechless!!

The agent told me I will get 1GB of data which is better than what I had but after the contract was signed and sealed I discovered it was only 800MB of which 400 MB is night time data WHICH HE NEVER MENTIONED!! When I logged a complaint as usual I received an automated response saying my case is escalated to the relevant department - and yes you guessed it - that was twelve days ago and still no response.

Hi Jan

We are in receipt of your complaint and apologize for the service you have received.

Your contract was renewed on the 07/08/2020 to a Pinnacle 1GB TopUp 2019 where on the 1st of every month, you will receive 500MB data, 500MB nite data, 30 any-net minutes, 30 on-net minutes, 500 SMSs.

An SMS was sent on the 07/08/2020 advising you on this and customer service emailed you a copy of your contract as per your request.

Yes I did receive the SMS that my contract was renewed AFTER your agent failed to explain that half the data is night time data. I accepted the upgrade telephonically without knowing that half the data is night time data. If you listen to the recording of this conversation you will realize this. The contractual agreement is based on the information disclosed. If you didn't inform me that half the data is night time data I will naturally assume it is anytime data as my previous data package with Cell was anytime data!!

Yes I have but what does that have to do with the issue?

What is written in my contract does not correspond to what you agent told me over the phone as I have tried to explain to you above. Your agent told me that the telephonic conversation constitutes the contract and that is what I accepted. The written version of the contract is different from the what he informed me over the phone. So you sent me a transcript of a contract that I have not agreed to.
