Cell C Customer Service - Diabolical, Sub-standard!
Does anyone else think that Cell C Customer Service is shocking? Defined by bad attitudes over the telephone and in-store, the ability to settle problems is deserves a -5 not a 1 star rating.
Having called 10 + times, been into the store, called the store 11 times after being told they would call me, I wrote this back to customer services -
If this matter of not retrieving my number is not dealt with today, I refuse to settle my final account as I was told all would be resolved by today - 1. The statement is incorrect: charging me twice the full price on the last month of a contract I only used for half a month. 2. I went into the store to set up a new cell account after my contract ended and somehow I cannot get access to security because they took my address down incorrectly so I cannot retrieve my old number. I called the 4 times from the store and eventually after me pushing the matter, the store offered to help. 3. The store said they would resolve the matter but they are nothing but lazy and slack and after calling them 11 times today, I have been cut off each time. They promised to call back 2 days ago and never did. 4. Then CellC Customer Services, even more stupidly try and contact me on a number that has been discontinued. 5. Then even more stupidly ask me to contact them back with a short dial CellC number and I don't have a CellC SIM as I am using another while I wait to resolve the problem.
It amazes me how poor the attitude of staff are, how little they know, how little they help, how laterally they do not think and how little discretion they are given to resolve problems. How this companies survives is purely based on our reliance for calls and data. Bring on the competittion!
Kindly post a private reply with your ID/Cell C number in question so we can be able to look into this matter.

To end your contract you need to give 30 days notice. So I call in to do so, they say they won't accept more than 30 days. So if you don't cancel on 30 days [14 days later in my case], your contract runs over and they remove all the discounts and bang: they have you. Charged almost 4x more than the pro-rata amount resulting in a hefty final bill.
So the CellC HelloPeter guy tells me its tough luck and that was in the contract.
Who regulates these providers? Should this be allowed? You sign a contract you cannot pull out of as your phone cannot be returned anyway. You are not allowed to give more than 30 days notice to end your contract. Then you get charged an ******ionate amount of money if you run over your contract period. No-one offers to change the contract in advance of it ending. Instead, ****************!
So the manager at the store who does little to help people when they are in the store did try set up a new contract after she received a call from CellC HelloPeter people. So in reality, she could have gotten off her chair and assisted her staff when I was there to sort out the blundered information they had on me that resulted in my account not being able to be accessed for me to change contracts. How they manage to merge 2 addresses into 1 I did not know but that meant, I failed my security test 6 times as they won't tell you which answer you got wrong. All my details had changed at some point over 2 years.
So after this, why would I even want to get another contract with them.
CellC, you have been paid pro-rata and you have lost a Client. You are sloppy, unhelpful and unremorseful ******* that does not give a hoot about keeping your Clients.
