Cell C Contracts- Cancellation impossible- Take Months of tedious efforts- while they keep deducting montlhy premiums

Think twice before you ever enter into a Cell C contract..Forstly while you're in it you might experience like we did absolute terrible reception. Then the day you want to cancel (or not renew) the contract the fun begins. We batlled with all 3 numbers that we tried to cancel and port! It literally take at leat 5 months to get Cell C to finally cancel the contract and to get the number ported. In the meantime you keep paying for the old contract which you dont have use for any more, becuase they just keep running the debit order! And this whilst you are paying the new contract. I now believe that this is an intentional strategy? Try phoning the "rertention" department that deals with cancellations. Firstly any call to get something done will take at least 20 minutes. (Today, I tried to sort out a number that we cancelled +-7 June already and requested porting for the 7 July..I managed to have these long calls about resolving the non-cancellation since then. The call before the last call I thought Finally it will be sorted now after the agent confirmed that the contract was cancelled and put on pre-paid (thus ready to be ported) The agent gave the date of 27 August to request porting from Telkom (apparantly need 30 days). Once again it did not work. (Telkom's porting request were all rejected). Today I had to hold a further 16 minutes for a Supervisor that couldnt speak to me after I was informed by the agent that (after 4 tiresome months trying to do the same thing), according to the system this number requested an Upgrade!! No trace of cancellation or porting requests!. In short my experience that Cell C is not interested or concerned about customer service at all. I found them unprofessioanllly and conducting their business *********ly. It also seems as if there is no proper audit trail of issues logged and obviously no accountability or consequences for staff/agents that are not performing their duties. It is impossible to escalate any issue to an accountable person/ manager, because you simply cant get hold of such a person.

Mr Maropeng spoke to me on 21 Sept. I left a messgae today to follow-up........This issue however has not yet been resolved. I'm still waiting for final confirmation that the contract is cancelled, that NO debit order will run this month, that Cell C will refund the debits taken affter the contract was cancelled the firt time...and finally that the number can be ported.
