Cell C Contracts |Accounts department ********** !!
My name is Zera. I took up a cellphone contract with Cell C in 2017 under ACCOUNT NUMBER ***. in 2019 I struggled financially and could not keep my account up to date. I was then handed over to their debt collector by the name of Nudebt. When my finances got better, I started communication with Nudebt regarding this account and they advised that the total owed was +-R4000. The first payment I made to Nudebt was R2025.39 on 25 April 2020.
The following month I contacted Nudebt again in hopes of settling the account, and they gave me a settlement discount of R1445.00, which I settled on 28 May 2020. They then confirmed that the account was fully paid.
However, Cell C kept on harassing me for payment, I notified them of the payments made to their Nudebt, but they refused to acknowledge them on the basis that they are no longer using them as their debt collector and that their new debt collector is now SSDA, therefore could not acknowledge the payments I made to Nudebt.
Now that this account has reappeared with a total of R5450 owing under SSDA. I would like all my previous payment to be deducted from this new total, then I would be happy to settle the balance (R1 979.61) with immediate effect. Nobody from Cell C accounts department has taken the liberty of confirming my payment with Nudebt at all, they dont even care. My previous payments cannot just be overlooked it is not my fault that they changed debt collectors, they should follow up with Nudebt themselves.
I've contacted the Cell C accounts department several times with this issue and they are just not interested in acknowledging any of the previous payments made. They are adamant that they want their new total settled and are completely disregarding any payment made previously to Nudebt. My worry is that I will settle this account with SSDA and they will have a new debt collector harassing me with a new amount to pay, as if I have money falling from trees. This is totally ********** and unacceptable. Can somebody from Cell C assist me with urgency regarding this please!
Thanking you.
Regards.
