Cell C Contract Cancellation Impossible

I have been trying to cancel my Cell C contact since 8 July 2020, due to very high ping (max = 319 ms) and poor upload speeds (min = 0.24 Mbps) which has made working from home nearly impossible.

Cell C has admitted that they have poor/no network infrastructure in the Southern Suburbs area (particularly Lakeside and Muizenberg). Yet, through numerous store visits, opening of cases/investigations, phone calls and even being handed over to the contract cancellation escalation department (2 months ago) have I been unsuccessful at cancelling my data contract.

To add salt to the wound, Cell C opted to cancel my contract if I paid an early cancellation fee of R666, to which I responded "Why should I pay to cancel a service I am already paying for but have not ever received? You guys should be paying me and I should receive an apology!".

I have been dealing with the Cell C store in Blue Route Mall and was told that they do not have a store manager there. Why are their doors open then?

After enquiring about progress in the escalation department 4 months into trying to cancel, I was told that they still have no answer for me and that I must phone the retentions department and ask to speak to a sales manager. The store said that they are not allowed to give me the area managers number either, meaning I am unable to speak to someone who can make decisions, to be left forever to quarrel with the subordinates who are under the poor mandate of Cell C's policy makers.

It is evident, via word of mouth and personal experience, that the cancellation of a contract with Cell C is nearly unachievable, and that in worse case scenarios you can still be debited months after your contract has expired.

It has gotten so bad that I have decided to move banks so that I can no longer be debited. I urge you not to support Cell C and to steer potential clients toward other network providers that are surely more competent!

My case number is *** and was closed because it apparently was "resolved".

Cell C, either you are passively negligent or deliberately ********.

All I want is for the contract to be cancelled free of charge, nothing more, nothing less.
