Cell C Clearwater Mall - Unable to open a new cellphone contract

I went to Cell C Clearwater Mall on Saturday 4th September to open a new cellphone contract as repeat business as I closed a contract with them 2 years ago. I completed the application and submitted my bank statements as well as latest payslip and then I was told that my application had to be escalated to EDC division to update my account status from closed account in order to apply for a new contract. I was sent back home with a promise that i will be phoned today.

When i made a follow up today, Monday 6th September i was told that an email was sent to the EDC department on Saturday however, i was not given any indication on then to expect a response. I was told that this division does not accept phone call queries, therefore, there is nothing to be done till they respond to the email, as a result, here i am, a potential customer, wanting to open a new contract with Cell C but told to wait for an email response from a business unit that cannot be contacted??? Im sure Cell C can do better than this??
