CELL C CANNOT BE TRUSTED

I have been having cell phone contract with Cell C for close to four years. I tell you I never had any problems with them, I think from 2018, not a single problem. I have been receiving excellent customer care since then until today 12 January 2021. My problem is like this: I have a contract with them which is ending around May 2022 and I have a new contract with them which I took in December 2021. I have decided to cancel this one ending in May 2022. I called the call centre early January and the consultant that side told me to wait first for the bill which will be released around the 7th January. I waited and on the 7th January I called again and I was given the amount to pay which was around R756. On the 8 January I did an EFT of R770. On Monday 10 January I called the call centre and I was told the money is not reflecting.I called again on the 11 January and again the money was not reflecting. When I called on the 12 January I was told by the consultant I spoke to that the money is reflecting but the system assumed that the money was for the January subscription. We had a lengthy argument because I was told to pay the amount which I paid, and now the system has some assumptions. She told me I need to pay that amount again because the one I paid went to settle the January bill. Remember I have a debit order for my subscription going off on the 20th of every month. I asked for the consultant to put me through to her supervisor because I realised she was not going to help me.The supervisor , named Vusi told me something different. He told me that the money I paid is for the device because I am ending the contract prematurely, and that I need to pay the January bill before I can cancel the contract.Remember, I have a debit order for my subscriptions. I asked if he is changing the mandate from debit order to cash payment and he said no, but it was what was happening because they are taking money I paid by EFT to settle the subscription amount which will go off by debit order.I had to cut off our conversation also because I realise we are not going to agree. I feel I was misled or told wrong information by the consultants and their supervisor. They are not telling me the same thing. I am confused and because they have taken the money I paid by EFT to settle my monthly subscriptions which I pay by debit order, I am going to instruct my bank to cancel the debit order and I will not be paying anything until this contract is cancelled under the conditions that they, themselves told me, I just hope they will resolve this matter and not allow this situation to get out of hand. I want to emphasise in conclusion that I thought Cell C was a good company, but it is not.I expected a better explanation from the supervisor but he was even more confusing than his consultants.
