Cell C can't reverse a simple mistake

Got to put my hands up to this. Tried to put R50 of airtime onto my daughters’ phone, via Internet Banking and got one of the digits wrong.

Obviously didn't get the confirmation sms through and call Cell C. Finally get to someone who can see the payment to the incorrect number on Cell C's system, but can only escalate. This is Friday at 12:00ish, so I’m told I’m unlikely to get any feedback until Wednesday. Give Cell C my phone details so I can get an update. Realise my mistake on Monday night. Tried calling the incorrect number. Doesn’t appear to be in use.

Call Cell C on Tuesday. Finally get to somebody who doesn’t just want to transfer me, explain my situation and am told there’s nothing Cell C can do.

And that is what I find impossible to believe! An organisation like Cell C doesn’t have a procedure in place to correct a mistake by a customer? Surely I can’t be the first person to do this?

Mpho couldn't have been more profession, patient and helpful. The situation was resolved within four hours of him contacting me. It's a shame the call centre staff don't have the same training. Colleagues have joked that perhaps CellC should do away with their call centre and just respond to reviews on Hello Peter!
