Cell C Breach of contract but still taking money????

First thank you very much for the awesome work you do to help people get back what they should have had in the first place, namely great customer excellence (service not always seen by big corporates and their employees.

Secondly I sincerely hope you can help me help this gentleman. Mr F Ballack a unemployed, 70 year old had a Data contract with Cell C,(Smart Data Share 10GBat R289pm x 24 from the 7/11/18. (062******188) All was well until 3 months ago when Cell C stopped their service but still deducted money. Then 2 months ago increased the installment with no explanation. Mr Ballack queried and was told that an SMS was send to all users. Still without any service. He cancelled the debit for that month but the next month Cell C deducted R612.00 the increased amount and the last two months. Mr Balack then on the 29th of August Cancelled his contract and returned the Device. (Ref ***) He was then notified that they will deduct one more installment in September before the contract come to an end.

Can Cell C with hold a Service that they agreed with a contract and still charge a client the full amount? Is that not breach of contract?

He is currently unemployed and every Rand is costly to him for his monthly survival. He used to use the data for missionary work, that he now can no longer do.

Please see if there is anything you can help with.
