So to follow up on my last post from 2018 - after a lot of ranting and raving to Cell C the faulty handset was replaced by Sony SA for a new one. But lo and behold, 16 months later and I'm having the exact same issue with the handset. After a bit of a struggle I got confirmation from both the Sony repair center and Sony SA that the handset will be repaired under warranty upon a copy of proof of purchase. This is where the fun begins.... I collected the new handset from Cell C The Glen so I contact them first right? They trace the IMEI number to a jobcard GPJOH306200 which was delivered to them from Cell C Head Office, so far so good. Now I just need to get a copy of the document from Head Office... I then had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Cell C customer care again. Firstly they cannot understand the difference between a contract handset and a replacement handset, secondly I got transferred to 4 different departments where I had to re-confirm my details and repeat my request, thirdly they have no idea who to contact or even how to trace any jobcards from their own company! I WOULD STRONGLY DISSUADE ANYONE FROM SUPPORTING CELL C AS THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT FROM THEM WITH REGARDS TO KEEPING CLIENTS HAPPY!!!! I'm awaiting a call from Cell C with regards to this matter as I will not leave it at this. Pity one always has to resort to bad publicity to get customer service...
