Cell C - Accounts technical problem - Account handed over.
We took out a new cellphone contract end Nov, 2019. Phone received, etc. Sim activated. During the process gave them bank account details, etc. December we got an sms to say that we are in arrears - so the debit order never went off. Called accounts dept, gave them debit order details again. 9 January 2020 received sms to say thanks for settling the bill. ''Thank you for your bill payment. All cellular services have now been restored. Call 135 if you experience any difficulties in making or receiving calls. Cell C.'' Yesterday received a call from legal department to state that we have been handed over due to non-payment. Now we cannot pay the arrears - we cannot use the contract - due to Cell C not deducting the funds from our account. Do we need to babysit you Cell C? Nobody can tell me what my account details are - there are ALWAYS funds in my account and NO debit orders were returned at all. Due to a Cell C technical problem - the consumer has to now have his cell phone contract suspended because someone at the accounts department did not present the debit order from the bank account for payment. This is atrocious. I want this sorted out. None of my accounts are ever in arrears! I have a clear credit score. Spoke to legal department - very nice lady - Anisha - I need to have this sorted out. Consumers cannot be held responsible for Cell C's problems.
