Cancelled contract, still active

I had my contract with Cell C for a few years, but realised that they are no longer providing the needs I request, and that Telkom's got so much more to offer.

My contract expired at Cell C and I kept on paying a montly fee of R294.00 for just my airtime and data. At the end of March 2019 I went into the Cell C store at Springs mall, seeking guidance on how to stop my contract and migrate my number to Telkom. The lady in store gave me the number to phone and cancel it myself @ their helpline.

I thus phoned, followed all the Cell C procedures to cancel. The lady who helped me said that my account will be debited one more time for an amount of R13×.××. After this, no more debit orders and my account will close and number will be prepaid. I waited until end May 2019 for my migration, went to Telkom and migtated my number to my new contract with them - such good service in store with Telkom!

At the end of May 2019, my account was once again debited with the normal amount of R294.00, and thus the story Cell C told me, never happened. I am confused, as I no longer make use of Cell C, my number is migrated to Telkom, but still I'm paying Cell C for some service?

Worst experience ever with Cell C, they are not guiding their customers on how to migrate and tells lies about what amount will be debited and don't cancel your account.

Phoned the Cell C helpline again, waited about 30min for someone to answer, they could not assist - put me through to the Accounts/Billing Department, they could not assit - put me through to the ***** Department, waited another 30min for someone to answer the phone. Finally they opened a case, and said they will get back to me.

Such a hassle to just cancel, and support is non existent, useless. Please can the CEO of Cell C go and buy petrol at Sasol and not get his petrol put in his car, would like to see how they react. Will advise no one to go and open a new contract with Cell C.

How do I get this sorted and make sure I followed the correct procedures, as I want the last debit order of R294.00 paid back to me!
