Cancellation of contract

I am trying to cancel my contract which terminates on 31 March, called in January, was told to call sometime in February. Call made, was told to call exactly 30 days in order to terminate. It almost seems like they are refusing to cancel this contract! No email to serve as written notification but only to call their *********** call centre?! absolutely pathetic service
