Canceled Contract

Please explain to me something. I had a contract for a while. I lost the phone but never got a new sim. Cell C after the contract expired kept on deducting money from my account. I presume it is to keep the line "open". I did not have a problem with it. A month ago I decided to upgrade the package to a data package. I contacted the Call Center and was told I can do it. I went into to the Cell C shop at Keywest. Spend an hour there only to be told I could not renew the contract because I'm on debt review. 1 of all. MTN has no problem with me renewing my contract with them. I contacted the call center the next day and canceled the contract as I'm not going to pay for something I can't use at all. I was told that the contract will be canceled the 8th of Nov. This morning I received an sms from my bank that Cell C took money. I see its the full amount which I pay each month. How can you take the full amount if the contract is supposed to be canceled the 8th of Nov? I understand if a prorate amount needs to taken off but not the full amount. Please let me know what is going on and why the full amount has been taken off and also confirm that the contract is canceled as I will not pay another cent towards this account
