Bye CellC ....... think I am Stupid

So. Here we are. Years later after being a Prepaid Cell C customer for ages and then four years data contract, I hopefully will be rid of Cell C forever. In 2016 I took out a data contract with Cell C East Rand mall agent. In the beginning it was a nightmare due to OOB charges. Someone at Cell C continually raised my OOB limit *******ly without my permission or knowledge. After months of battling and regular visits to the Agent it was resolved only after the Manager got directly involved and limited the OOB to R1. Thereafter no more problems. I had a business then but but circumstances changed. By then I had my whole family on Cell C. Forward to 2018... By now I became a SASSA pensioner. I upgraded my contract again due to a promotion, this time at the Springs mall Agent, as I was happy with Cell C. My daughter wanted her own data contract at the same time but could not immediately take out a contract due to some or other reason and as the promotion ended that day the Agent advised me to take out a second contract on my name with a stop order at her Bank and then three months later then the contract could be changed to her name i.e she could take over the contract. Just to mention after three months the story changed it was apparently not possible. Due to issues with my daughters employer forcing her to open a Nedbank account for her salary, (My daughter was at FNB), she gave her new Nedbank account as debit order. My daughters employer never paid her salary in the Nedbank account, Thus the stop order did not go through and thus extra costs were incurred at the bank and at Cell C. After three months I told my daughter to close the Nedbank account. That was also a mayor battle. Eventually going in to Nedbank the account was closed, Yet Cell C, even after proof were send that the account was closed still debited Nedbank and as the debit order failed they would charge extra fees on the contract. The contract was paid during this period of issues monthly by EFT. As the call center agents and account system never tie up the account was a mess. Requests for changing the debit order or modifying the contract to EFT were refused and ignored. Me and my daughter had no transport and she mostly lived elsewhere so we had to rely on others to take us to the agents. Forward 7 months later after many lies and stories during calls to the useless call centers and many agent visits later....... thus after Seven months of strife, I lost it and nearly bashed in the Cell C counter in Springs mall. Then suddenly Cell C could change the payment as requested for My "daughters" contract to EFT. We were so happy after such a long period of strife, so only after losing 100"s of rand due to extra fees we got what we wanted and begged for. So this should be the end of it......................???????????

Nope! I did not end there. So after this my daughter moved back home and we used her modem as I was bed ridden at the time and used little data. When I realized what actually happened it was to late. When I wanted to use My own modem, my own account was in arrears. The stupid CellC call center cancelled both stop orders on their side so My account was in arrears for months. I never realized while bed ridden as my kids used my card and the stupid Truecaller see all Cell C calls as spam. Unfortunately I was now so far in arrears that I could not pay up and Cell C closed my account. I had no money to pay up. So after years of absolutely minimum issues on my contract it was lost. My daughter paid her contract with EFT. So we continued using data on my daughters contract. A few months ago we did a sim swap on my daughters contract as I somehow lost the sim after I used the data sim directly on my phone. All was still well. Then the following month the speed on the data contract was very low. I believe it was throttled, they said no its not. No matter what I did the I could not get to the normal speed. I tried in my phone, different modems, etc to no avail. Called useless call center and they told me nothing is wrong with account, it must be the modem or sim. Even after I told them I tried the sim in my phone and different modems with the same result they forced me to reset the modem. Made no difference. I told them I will again try another modem. I reset the other modem with still same result. This happened just before the weekend. After a while I gave up and told the call center agent I will try further tests myself and if nothing changes I will call again. When I placed the sim in original modem it was dead. Tried phone and other modems again with same result. Called call center again. They said account is fine must be sim. So I send someone to buy new sim and called again to requested sim swap. I was then told they cannot do the sim swap so I must call back on Monday morning. Come Monday I called and was then suddenly told I cannot do sim swap as I am owe them money on the other closed contract. I must call legal. Spoke to someone at Legal and he said I must pay up the other closed contract or make an arrangement and then I can do a sim swap. So I asked him if there were any issues in my original contract until they stuffed up my debit order. He said no but do not know what he could do to help. I also asked him for a breakdown of the account and added costs. He said he will get someone to call me back to look into my concerns and make some arrangements. So I asked about the account that now are on hold for sim swap and he advised me to carry on paying till the issue with other contract is resolved. Thus I must pay for something I cannot use.

Needless to say NOBODY contacted me and I never received the account breakdown. Only after this other account now also ran into arrears, as I told my daughter to stop paying the contract, I suddenly received some calls from cell C which I just ignored. They want payment for non delivery? for something their call center stuffed up? Again the one department at Cell C have no clue what the next are doing and the Cell C management hide as usual behind a useless call center that can make or take no decisions. My family now have all moved along, gone to MTN, Telkom and Afrihost for their data and call needs. They laugh at me for staying at Cell C for so long.

I will be making the same move soon. Telkom looks the most promising for now.

No resolve came from this as I was contacted via calls and messages on a sim no. which is placed inside a modem. It must be to much trouble to get my contact detail as registered in the contract.
