06 Dec 2023, 08:53Good day, thank you for your response. Just a correction on my end, I have been a customer of Cell C since 2002. The frustration I have is that I called in on Monday 4th December 2023, to cancel my two contracts that are coming to an end and move over to prepaid, not to leave Cell C, but to just cancel the contracts and use prepaid from next month onward instead.
So then I was told that the cancellation must be done 30 days prior to the end of the contracts, which I assumed I was doing, only to be told that for the Smartdata contract the cancellation will be set for the 2nd January 2023, and I called in too late because the contract ends 18th December. That meaning then I will have to pay the full undiscounted amount of the monthly premium for the whole of January 2024, that is +-R450 more. I was also told if I had phoned on the 1st December instead, it could have been set to cancel on 31st December 2023.
Then for my Pinnacle contract, it is a few days to early and I have to phone back on the 10th December 2023 to cancel that, as that contract ends 10th January 2024. Seemingly, there is no flexibility of the 30 day cancellation period either way before or after the 30 day mark. Surely Cell C has the ability to make alternative decisions or at least be accommodating towards a loyal customer to assist them with such simple requests?
