i forgot my phones's pattern which is not your fault, but it doesnt even show the option of unlocking it with a password instead or maybe the option of atleast erasing everything. i dont know what to do now and its frustrating that i can only answer calls only. i am using the cell c summit phone. any suggestions please?

Try hard reseting the handset, maybe this might help.
Switch off your phone, select the power button, then press and hold power key, home key and volume up key. After a while, you will see the logo on the screen, then release all the buttons. You can use volume down key for scrolling and selecting, use either home or power key. Now select factory reset or wipe data.
Remember that hard reset will delete all your valuable data from your phone!
