Billing for services that were not provided

My I'd number is *** and I have a contract with cell c. At the end of december 2019 my account was R479 and I was unable to pay the account due to a medical emergency. On the 1st Jan 2020 the line was suspended and no services I.e free minutes, data etc was provided. I was content with this because I had not paid the bill at the end of December 2019. On the 24th Jan 2019 i had logged into the cell c app and found that my bill had doubled ( 479 x 2). I had immediately called the called centre with call reference number *** and spoke to Nokuphula Matyila.(24 01.2020 at 11:37am) The call duration was 20 minutes. I had explained to the call centre agent that the line was suspended and no services were provided for the month of Jan 2020 and she agrees 100 percent but then she insists that u should pay the extra 479 supposedly for Jan 2020 even though no services were rendered. I had asked to speak to her manager and was placed on hold for about 8 minutes before another female had come onto the line and greeted and ended the call before I could speak. How can cell c charge a customer fees when no services are provided for an entire month. I am happy to pay the 479 for December 2019 but will not be paying an additional 479 for January 2020 when I did not benefit at all.

Please rectify and amend my bill as soon as possible. Alternatively I will write to ICASA because this is ****************. Your call centre employees need to be trained to be competent.you dont go around telling your customer we never provided you with your services but you must still pay

Good day Simone Kannusamy

We sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience.

The benefits were loaded on the 1st of January 2020. Please note that you are required to make payment to keep your line active as we are a service provider. We cannot be blamed for you not being able to use your line.
