Billed an excessive amount for 3 successive months after my contract has expired.

My Cell C contract was due for expiration in August 2017. I phoned them in June to let them know that I want it to end in August, no renewals. They told me to phone back in July, which I did. Contract set to expire 11 August. They offer me a contract, month to month for R29-00 per month. I accept. Which means it will come into play in August/September.

End of August, I'm paying an amount of R686-67, which I figure is still for usage in August... Right? Then end of September, they're deducting R317-69. After multiple calls, I'm still to receive a proper answer as to why, given the fact that this line wasn't an open line. It was a set amount for a specific amount of minutes and data, after which I have to add via top up. So why am I being charged R317-69 end of September for a contract that has expired 11 August already? When there's an agreement in place for R29? After so many e-mails, so many phone calls that lasted days upon days, they're telling me it's an amount for the handset. Which I don't get since the contract was set to expire 11 August. It wasn't a premature cancellation. How the hell can you still be charged for a handset after contract expiry? Isn't that suppose to flow in with the contract period?

Then comes October, and once AGAIN I'm being charged an amount of R369-01?! For what? Where's the R29-00 account for the new contract? My account expired in August and 3 months later, I'm still being charged?

And when I call them or email them, asking about it, wanting to know what this money is for and telling them I'm feeling like cancelling everything all together, all they do is come back to tell me my contract will be cancelled end of November 2017. And they're sorry to see me go. That's it. No explanation. No refund. Nothing. Just a "Bye, see yah."

I am appalled to say the least. I swear, they just shrug and sends us off. Not a care in the world. Clearly they can just take your money via debit order, and feel like they don't even need to tell you what it was for. What the hell?
