Being hounded about a nonexistent Cell C accout

For the last few weeks I have been hounded by a debt collectors for na overdue Cell C account. The problems here is that I do not have a cell c account. The last time I had a Cell C account was 3 or 4 years ago. That number was converted to pay as you go then ported to FNB. This would not have been done if there was anything owing on the account.

The more I tell these people (Debt Collectors) I do not have a cell c account the more they ignore it and phone again. When asked the details of the account they can’t give it to me. I have tried to contact cell c to try and rectify this issue. There are no public numbers to contact cell c on. So beware do not get involved with Cell C . Not only is there coverage terrible the contact points are worse. Collin

Well, the saga continues. Apparently, I do have a Cell C account. Three or four years ago I ported the cell C number to pay as you go and then transferred to FNB. I had to clear the account before I could port. Now I start getting hounded by debt collectors, after all, the year for an ‘Apparently “ outstanding amount and they handed me over to a debt collection agency. The amount was apparently R208.50 (after the assistance of the social media person who contacted me.). I have had no contact (nada, nothing ) from Cell C for the last 3 years as to this ‘Supposed’ outstanding amount although they had my telephone number my email address and the number of the cell phone that was ported.

My first exposure to them again was being hounded by debt collectors. You can’t speak to anyone at Cell C not accounts, legal, etc. The social media person was my goto (Cell C go figure) to her “thank you.”

I think what’s happened is Cell C is digging backward for cash and found old accounts that did not have a formal cancelation letter etc, etc to try and dig up some badly needed money,. So they did a ‘Hail Mary’ and sold these so-called outstanding ‘Bad” accounts to debt collectors.

I eventually paid the outstanding amount to stop people phoning me and my with at least 2 times a day with lots of sms’s and being treated like a ********. I have found Cell C dealings in this matter absolutely appalling.

However the ‘Great Un-Washed) do sometimes have a few teeth. I am the half-owner of a IT company that supplies goods and services to our customers like hardware. networks, CONNECTIVITY etc. Guess what Cell C ???
