Bad service

i had month to month contract with Cell C for Fibre, when i signed the contract with Cell C, the consultant told me this no need for me to pay Cellc for router if i stayed with them for a year , which i did . The month to month contract that i signed did not include the option for me to pay the router money.After one year , i cancelled my contract , now they want me to pay for the router.
