Bad Service

Dear Sir/Madam I took a cell phone upgrade at CellC Forest Hill in Centurion on the 20th of May 2020 for a Huawei P40 lite. Unfortunately the Cellphone fell and cracked the screen on the 3rd of July 2020. I then learned from someone who works for Huawei that I’m entitled to a free screen replacement within 100 days of purchase provided the device is registered on the Huawei website within 7 days from the date of sale. I then took the cellphone back to CellC Forest Hill for the replacement of the screen because they didn't inform me about this 100 days offer hence I never registered for it on the Haiwei website. To my surprise they said they were not informed by Huawei about the 100 days offer of a free screen replacement. So I asked who should account for this because I bought my device at Cell C thus can't go to complain at haiwei, and was never given a proper response. I have been sent back and forth with regard to this matter without luck or anyone taking accountability. CellC Forest Hill wants me to pay for the replacement of the Screen. I fill my consumer rights are violated by CellC as I bought the device from them and they never informed me to register the device on Huawei website to be able to enjoy the 100 days free screen replacement benefit. I asked for a reference number for my complaint and even that they are refusing to give me.

Good day Mr. Maguga

Thank you for contacting Cell C regarding the repairing of the Huawei P40 Lite device.

Cell C is not able to advise or confirm the service rendered by the manufacturer. Please refer to the booklet provided with the device to see if you have any warranty or guarantee that comes with the device as you are legible to claim from that.

I think you are missing the point here. This is not about guarantee nor warrantee of the device. This is about the benefits that comes with the device when clients purchase it that Cell C failed to inform us about as we are their client. Their excuse is that Huawei didn't inform them about the 100 days offer that comes with purchasing this device. Hence I said that as a client for Cell C I was deprived information by my service provider (Cell C) because this is where I bought my device. Now I can't go complain at huawei because I didn't buy my device there.
