Bad Customer Service / Contract Cancellation Difficulty
1. Cell C has to be the absolute worst company I’ve dealt with when it comes to customer service. If you’re used to getting great customer service and seamless electronic processes where everything can be done with simple clicks like me don’t go to Cell C.
2. Cell C internet / LTE packages are not competitive and they are very rigid when comes to upgrading or migrating plans.
3. Cell C has the most difficult cancellation process for any service or contract I’ve ever subscribed to... first you can’t cancel online or walk into their office to speak to someone and get it cancelled. You have to call a special number that is only available from 8am to 6pm from a Cell C line only where you will be met by very unfriendly agents. After getting through you still can’t cancel because you have first go and pay to some account which was sent via SMS and I have to call back after two days to complete the cancellation. To my surprise the account details provided was incomplete and I could not be sure if I’m sending money to the correct account.
I’m currently abroad right now so the only way of reaching Cell C is via email to confirm the account number. This will inadvertently cost me another R500 monthly subscription cost and I don’t know what additional obstacles they would put in front of me.
I just thought to put this out there to help someone and hope they don’t fall into the Cell C trap while I continue with my Mission Impossible: Contract Cancellation
