Avoid, Avoid, Avoid CellC

I cancelled a data contract with Cell C in the last week of July, and gave notice on a 2nd contract with Cell C on the same day - I wanted it migrated to pay-as-you-go, per my instructions to the agent, as I wanted to port the number to Vodacom. The reason for the port was due to Cell C making the contract data-only when they upgraded the contract in 2021, therefore my son could not call me unless it was on WhatsApp, and only if he had a decent CellC signal. (I am a Vodacom subscriber.) As notice was given on both contracts on the same day in July, by end of August the one contract should have cancelled, and the other should have been migrated to pay-as-you-go / prepaid. CellC did cancel the one data contract - before the 31st of August for some reason, however the other contract was still active on the 1st of September instead of being migrated to pay-as-you-go (prepaid airtime is required to receive port-out SMS's). Porting was only possible on the 12th of September, and it was a problematic port to Vodacom as CellC did not release the number for porting as soon as they should have. Cell C passed a small credit for the remaining days the number was not on their network, which annoyed me as I should not have had to pay for the month of September at all if they attended to the migration to pay-as-you-go instruction timeously. I called CellC to find out how I can be refunded the credit amount and they sounded surprised that I wanted the credit transferred back to my bank account. A very unhelpful agent, who mumbled through the conversation, asked me security questions, which I answered, and then she says "I'm sorry but we cannot help you". I ended the call promising her that I will be posting my experience on HelloPeter as I do not have any more patience left for CellC. This rude and arrogant treatment of consumers just confirms that I did the absolute best thing moving away from CellC. They have done me in on previous contracts - billed me for services not requested - so good riddance CellC!
