I took a data bundle contract with Cell C via FNB. The 24 month contract ended in March. A sales person called me to renew. I asked to cancel. She could not assist as they were in marketing and not cancellations. I must call cancellations myself. Goodbye.

One of the reasons for cancellation was that my monthly bill of R99 + R50 Limit cost automatically went up to R333. There was no urgency to cancel but when the higher debit went off again, I called in. They claim that once the special is over, you revert to monthly billing, hence the higher charge. Is this any way to retain a client? I am waiting almost 2 weeks for someone to come back to me where it states they can charge me more when my contract expires. I asked Cell C for a copy of the voice recording from FNB which states this, nothing, I asked for my contract to be cancelled immediately on the 01 May 2015, no confirmation received that this has been attended to.

Is Cell C allowed to overcharge clients as above? Can we take this up with the Ombudsman? Where is the service delivery? Where is the info I asked for? Are they hiding something?
