Shocked by the appalling service received from Cell C
It was early February 2018 when I received a call from an agent who offered me a contract from Cell-C. At the time I didn’t have a phone and decided to accept for myself and for my partner as well. Forms were sent to be completed and soon thereafter I received the phones at my workplace which was a bonus to all. Not long after receiving the phones, I got a call from the Insurance people which I decided to take which I assumed will assist when in need.
On 12 February a year had passed and contacted Cell- C to assist with repairs as the phone fell (the Insurance was to cover a cracked screen or water damage). After spending most of my time on the phone and the call being cut , I spoke to Daisy who transferred me to Gary at repairs who told me that the phone will be collected soon. I called again to have the phone collected which was done at the time. After the collection, I got an SMS stating that I must make a deposit of R200 which I had made accompanied with the form which was meant to be completed.
The calls started in beginning of February then end of March I got the phone back which was dropped OFF whereby the delivery man just ran off with no explanation. I was ecstatic to have the phone back but when I opened the package, the phone was still broken. I made numerous calls to the office and was told that the repairs division was on strike. As livid as I was I tried to remain calm because an agent Thembile had explained the process which I wasn’t told to begin with (after all this time I thought that with the collection of the phone, the Insurance people will interact with the repairs which wasn’t the case). I had to phone around after being placed on hold then eventually the call gets cut or transferred and have to explain my whole story from the start. Given the runaround, I spoke to Martha who transferred me to the repairs AGAIN. At this point, words cannot express my anger.
On 10 April 2019 I AGAIN spoke to Daisy then was given Ronelle’s number for assistance (a lady from the Insurance who explained what procedures they follow). With not getting any satisfaction, I called back the following day I spoke to Phila then a Nokuthula who told me that the repairs division is still on strike and will have somebody to contact me. Till date now in May nothing has happened and the only response is that the repairs are still on strike and till date nobody contacted me with regards to this matter.
So I’ve been paying my monthly premium including the Insurance for a phone that I still don’t have. Will I be compensated for all this time because this is A *******. If I knew then what I know now of Cell-C’s service I would never have taken this contract with them and wouldn’t advise friends, family members or anybody to take on business with them.
Desperately seeking for assistance.
Best regards,
