An incredibly painful experience

I am beyond frustrated with CELL C service at the moment. I agreed to an upgrade to my contract via a telemarketer. I was told it (a Samsung Galaxy S7) would be delivered and accompanied by a free Samsung Galaxy J2.

I was then SMS'd and told it would be delivered by RAM on Friday 11 November. I called RAM and asked that it be postponed to the 21st when I would return to work (the site for delivery).

I was NOT told that this would mean it would be returned to Cell C as RAM has a policy not to keep the items longer than 5 days (I do understand the policy however I was not made aware of this).

On Monday I was SMS'd and told that my parcel would be delivered on the same day. It arrived and to my surprise only contained the J2. I then called RAM and Cell C and the above policy was explained to me. If I had known this was the case, I would have called and authorised the re-issue by Cell C of the S7 in time to be delivered along with the J2 on Monday 21 November.

I was then told that the S7 would be reissued to RAM on Monday 21 and I would receive it hopefully on Tuesday 22. After hearing nothing from RAM or Cell C to confirm the S7 was with RAM and scheduled for delivery today I called Cell C and was informed it had in fact not been sent to RAM and that someone would call me back to confirm when it had been sent. Alas no call came. (*Shocker*). I then phoned Cell C again and was told that it had been sent to RAM and was given a tracking number and that it was scheduled for delivery today and they were fighting with RAM about why it had not been delivered. I then called RAM who said the tracking number in fact belonged to someone else (Michael someone). I called Cell C back and was told that that was the number they were given.

I have now been told that the S7 has actually NOT been sent through to RAM yesterday or today and in addition - CELL C DOES NOT HAVE STOCK at the moment and cannot confirm when they will get more. They will only know when the stock is delivered tomorrow.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT STOCK YOU WILL HAVE DELIVERED? Further I was told that IF a stock of S7's be delivered there is no guarantee that I will receive one by the end of the week as they are distributed on a 'first-come-first-serve' basis (understandable) and that I should call tomorrow to see if there is stock.

I have a number of issues with all of this:

1. the fact that the RAM/Cell C policy was not communicated to me and that I was therefore unable to arrange delivery along with the J2 on Monday 21 November;

2. that I was not told to expect the delivery in two parts (definitely not an outcome I would have come to naturally);

3. that I was told that it would be resent to RAM on Monday 21 November and that it was not in fact done;

4. that I was told that someone would get back to me (regarding delivery of the phone to RAM on Tuesday 22 November) and they did not;

5. that NO ONE thought it would be smart to mention that you in fact have NO STOCK and do not know when you will be getting more hence your failure to deliver the S7 to RAM.

I was under the impression that this would be a painless process. And I am wondering how long I would have waited for the S7 to be delivered had I not been proactive and called Cell C!

I am very disappointed with this service especially after it started so well.

LASTLY, I have been informed that the contract has been activated and that I will be charged the contract fee in full despite the fact that I have not received the device. This is ridiculous.

An incredibly unhappy customer.

And so the pain continues:
I AM ABSOLUTELY APPALLED BY CELL C AT THIS POINT!
Now in order to get my S7 they have to come and collect the J2 (for the record it has already been given away) and then come back on a different day and deliver the J2 and S7 together.
I am rapidly approaching my wits end. When I asked about how I can just walk away from this I was told that I could not and that I would be charged for the S7 despite only receiving the J2.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS! CELL C will not even collect the old J2 while dropping off the new devices - this will need to be done on separate days. I really wish I could just pay them for the J2 and WALK AWAY! I am so over this! YOU CANNOT CHARGE ME FOR SOMETHING I DO NOT HAVE
