Airtime used instead of data for internet services

I bought airtime and data this afternoonand accessed the internet for a few minutes then turned off my mobile data. When checking my balance, I was shocked to find that the airtime has vanished without making a single call or sending a message and yet the data is untouched, so meaning instead of cell c using data for internet they are chewing my airtime for no reason.
