ACCOUNT SETTLED IN 2009, 6 YRS LATER HANDED OVER

In 2008, I took out a contract with Cell C. About 6 months into the contract, the phone was damaged and the contract was cancelled, but I still hand to pay Cell C for the blance of the contract. This contract was eventually settled in full in 2009. To my surprise, I received a call from DMC debt collection who says there is an amount owing outstnading and that Cell C has handed this account over to them. Firstly I settled this contract in 2009 by that time I have moved residence and don't have any documentation as this account was settled 6 years ago. DMC who are the so called Debt collectors for Cell C insist that there is an amount outstanding and when I informed them that the account was settled, they say that I must get the documents from Cell C to proof that the account was settled. If DMC are the appointed Debt colectors, then they should have that information was Cell C. <br> On further investigation, I discovered that Cell C sold the debt to DMC at a very low price after it was settled. DMC now wants to claim this amount from me, which is totally wrong. According to NCA a debt would have prescribed after 3 years if no contact was made with the debtor. This debt was settled
