1 month old Laptop Faulty Caps lock - I am asked to go to HP to Fix it

I upgraded to a Hp Laptop (Celeron) last month ago (Feb 2017 ) and after receiving it, I didnt use it since school didnt start quite immediately this year. I tried using it 2 weeks back because assignments are now allocated at school and the Caps lock didnt work. it was always active making it horrible to type. i called Cell C 084 143, and i got the shock of my life the agent I called said that i cant return it becuase it might be my fault.

I was so upset I dont even remember the agent name. How can I have a laptop for 1 month and be the cause of a faulty Caps Lock "Key". i was transfered to Cancellation, the Follow up department and back to customer care for nothing. and eventually where I couldnt believe was when the customer care agent said, there is nothing I can do, I must sell it to a person I know who wants the Laptop and have them pay for it because its a month old and i cant return it to Cell C.

I am already behind with assignments and now I am stuck with a laptop I got on an upgrade, one month old and I am the one to blame. my payment record never was an issue but this is the thanks I get for choosing Cell C. I dont even remember getting a contract for this upgrade

my rights CPA Rights have been violated:

1. The right to choose which states - A customer has a right to change their minds and they have a right to recourse if their purchase does not live up to the suppliers claims or if the customer is not satisfied with the goods or services.

2. The right to Accountability by the suppliers

3. The right to fair and honest Dealings

4. The right to fair just and reasonable terms and conditions

- I am appalled that Cell C doesn't even want to take the laptop and get me a knew one, but I must be the one to fix their product. I really am demanding restitution for this level of service because I will escalate this further if left unresolved.

Dumisani Mdlalose

********** 780

I received a call and frankly I responded to the Cell C agent that I will not be calling the HP they asked me to call.
I am going back to what I said, how can a Laptop have a faulty Caps lock and you still ask a loyal and worthy customer to call HP to fix it.
They as the supplier mus either remedy the goods or issue a new one. Atleast that is what is said under CPA and I am not going to fix their problems for them. I am in now mental position to be calling the HP guys with my Cell C open line airtime. which indirectly supposes I destroyed the Caps lock key. It is as comon as can be that Cell C must fix this issue soley and not pass responsibility to the underserviced customer. Which calling will be my expense.
I responded to Theodore on email and I am currently waiting for that action to be taken as it is only fair. How can I complain about goods and in return be asked to fix it myself by calling HP?
This doesn't indicate ownership. The nature of the problem indicates that a customer can be responsible for a faulty Caps lock key.
