Very concerning and ********* conduct
I received a call from someone who claimed to be from CDS Consulting. When I asked basic questions about where they obtained my contact details, the caller immediately hung up. Moments later, I received an SMS stating that I had given consent for CDS Consulting to request my credit report for an affordability assessment, including partially masked ID details and a specific consent date. I did not give any such consent, verbally or in writing. It is extremely concerning for a company to claim consent that was never granted, especially when it involves access to sensitive personal and credit information. This behaviour appears deceptive and potentially ********. I would strongly caution others to be vigilant when dealing with this company and to verify any claims of consent or authorization very carefully. If this is how customer interactions are handled, it raises serious questions about their business practices.
This is the content of the SMS received: "I, N N, ID ..........****, gave consent to request my credit report on 2026-06-16. Reason: Affordability Assessment. CDS Consulting (Pty) LTD"
This company is a **** *****. How do you say I have consent to something that I haven't. They need to be shutdown.
