Why do businesses use this horrible service???

The only courier that expects you to call them to confirm details you've already submitted. Once you try calling you are put on hold for at least 30min, then the agent cant hear a single thing, asking me for my reference 3 times and after giving it to her three times she still cant hear a single thing before ending the call. This is horrible service!!!!!!!
